RAF Burtonwood Air Base became a vital player in the Second World War and victory for the allies, thanks to its maintenance role with American aircraft and the US servicemen stationed there. And Burtonwood Association historian Aldon Ferguson has spent years researching the importance of the part it played, and the impact it had on the town itself.
