What, in general terms, are your government’s policies and practices regarding oversight and review of foreign investment?
For the purposes hereof, the term ‘foreign investments’ refers to both foreign direct investments (ie, acquisitions made by a non-Swiss person or entity in Switzerland) and foreign indirect investments or foreign portfolio investments (ie, a non-Swiss person or entity acquiring a financial position in a Swiss entity).
Switzerland is (still) pursuing a very liberal and open approach towards foreign investments despite recent political tensions on a global level. In principle, no significant barriers or discriminatory measures apply to foreign investments in Switzerland.
