Humanitarian aid organization Samaritan’s Purse donated two aircraft to Pacific Mission Aviation, a group that provides medical evacuations, sea searches, disaster relief for those in isolated islands.
Given an increased demand for flights, Pacific Mission Aviation looked into grants to support the purchase of the Beechcraft King Air 200, training of pilots and mechanics, as well as spare parts.
On Nov. 8, the organization contacted Samaritan’s Purse, which had two Beechcraft King Air 200’s outfitted for mission work, with extra cargo carrying capabilities, strong landing gear and other enhancements.
Three Pacific Mission Aviation pilots and three mechanics were trained, and the planes were upgraded.
